The 24th edition of the International Exhibition for Equipment, Technologies, Raw Materials and Ingredients for the Food Processing Industry – Agroprodmash 2019 opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds. The participants demonstrate comprehensive technological solutions for 30 sectors of the food industry.

On behalf of the Agroprodmash organisers Director General of Expocentre AO Sergey Bednov welcomed the exhibitors and visitors and expressed his gratitude to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other industry associations for their strong support and organisation of this high profile event.

He said that Agroprodmash was one of the largest trade shows in Eastern Europe and number one trade show in Russia which was confirmed by the Russian National Exhibition Rating. Agroprodmash carries the logos of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs which testify to high quality of the trade show.

Agroprodmash is growing. The net exhibition space increased by 9% compared to the previous year; the number of exhibitors grew by 8%. This year the trade show brought together 930 participants from 31 countries including 567 Russian companies. The number of Russian exhibitors is growing thanks to the government support measures for the industry companies, said Sergey Bednov. Moreover, in his opinion, the trade show is not only display of goods. It is also a discussion and networking platform including a lot of interesting supporting events.

Today, the development of the agroindustrial sector and manufacturing industry is in the trend of digitalisation. That is why one of the key events of the Agroprodmash supporting program is the Digital Agroindustry Forum 2019 devoted to the IT solutions and digital transformation of the agroindustrial sector, said the head of Expocentre.

First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management Sergey Lisovsky made his speech at the opening ceremony, thanked the exhibition organisers, and read a welcome address from First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Nikolay Fedorov. The welcome address underlines the importance of Agroprodmash as an effective platform to exchange best practices and innovative ideas. The exhibition size provides a unique opportunity to see the latest technology and modern equipment, and evaluate cutting-edge developments.

Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev, in his turn, stated in his welcome address that Agroprodmash promoted the development of international relations and upgrade of food facilities. The Minister expressed his confidence that a busy supporting program would help identify the growth points of the Russian agroindustrial sector, strengthen international cooperation, and establish contacts with market players.

Minister of Agriculture and Food of Moscow Region Andrey Razin, Deputy Director of the Department of Food and Food Processing Industry of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Vladimir Skvortsov, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Maxim Fateev, and President of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Platonov congratulated the attendees on the opening of Agroprodmash 2019.
