The congress was opened with a plenary meeting devoted to digitalization of the children’s industry. The meeting participants discussed how to make production of children’s goods in Russia more modern and affordable for consumers.

Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Anna Kuznetsova mentioned her positive experience in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. Talking about digitalization of the industry, she highlighted the necessity to inform people about the current Russian-made affordable quality goods and services. Mrs. Kuznetsova also brought up an issue of information platforms which can be used to present these products. "It is very important to create such platforms. There are not enough of them now. We have to make them regional and adapted to those regions’ specifics and demands," said the commissioner.

Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gulnaz Kadyrova noted the high level of Mir Detstva where 70% of exhibitors are Russian companies. "This is the place where one can discuss all problems and challenges facing the industry. Today manufacturers show their options and solutions for digitalization," said the deputy minister.

CEO of Modern Media Research Institute Kirill Tanaev talked about trends of the current media industry and media consumption habits of children. According to the expert, children make about 30% of the audience and consume the most content. Today's children have a very high level of use of digital devices.
