Denis Manturov, Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade, visited the COMTRANS 2023 International Trade Fair for Commercial Vehicles at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds and took part in the launch of production of Sollers Argo compact light-duty trucks.
Mr. Manturov spoke at an online ceremony of launching a new production. He said, “The Sollers Argo model has a great future, given the growth of short-haul transport, especially in urban agglomerations. Therefore, there is no doubt that the company's objective to reach the production of ten thousand such cars in three years will be met. Accordingly, the output at the Sollers facility in Ulyanovsk will increase 1.5-fold. This will also be facilitated by further recovery of the car market as a whole, including commercial vehicles. The government, for its part, will expand its support of demand. By the end of the year we are increasing the financing of the preferential leasing programme by 7.8 billion rubles. This amount will make it possible to sell about 15,000 additional vehicles, including electric cars. Moreover, buyers will be able to take advantage of this support measure literally starting from tomorrow.”
During his visit, Denis Manturov inspected the stand of the Avtopribor research and production centre, where, in particular, an import-substituted geared motor was presented. This motor is one of the most important parts responsible for the efficiency and reliability of the entire windscreen wiper system. It is manufactured on a fully automatic assembly line of the Avtopribor plant in Vladimir. Today, the production capacity is sufficient to meet the demand of the domestic market for such components as up to 1.5 million parts can be manufactured per year.
Denis Manturov also got acquainted with the SDV 3.5 multi-purpose vehicle for delivery services, which is the first in Russia low-floor electric truck with a multifunctional cargo compartment. The minister visited the stand of the Minsk Automobile Plant to see the new model of a tourist bus (the new MAZ 350 designed for suburban, international and tourist transportations), as well as new models of the MAZ-541SA5 tractor truck with the engine of ecological class 6 and the MAZ-65262L dump truck.
The KAMAZ showcase took a special place at COMTRANS. The company presented about 30 exhibits, including tractors, dump trucks, KAMAZ Compass light- and medium-duty trucks, and alternative fuel vehicles. In addition, the company presented an unmanned version of the K5 generation long-haul tractor. The operation of these tractors was launched along the M-11 Neva motorway in June 2023. The deputy prime minister also saw models of the NEFAZ-4290 medium class bus, the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus with night charging, the sports version of the K5 generation trucks, and other modern vehicles.
