Roskachestvo (the Russian Quality System) together with the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and EXPOCENTRE held the Thematic Session on the Halal Products Market: Effective Infrastructure and New Opportunities within the conference programme of Prodexpo 2024.

The session was moderated by Head of the Halal Competence Centre at Roskachestvo Marat Nizamov, who noted in his opening speech that halal is a global trend today. The global turnover of the halal industry reaches two trillion US dollars. This is a dynamically developing industry. The growth rate in the last year has been as high as 6-7 per cent. According to estimates, the share of halal in 2025 will reach 20 per cent of the world's products. And in 2030, it will already be 25 per cent. Halal is an ecosystem that is evolving with the growing number of its consumers.

The session was attended by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the Federal Accreditation Service, representatives of the management of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as manufacturers of halal products.

The session participants discussed the latest trends and prospects for the development of the halal market in Russia and other countries, and received information on key aspects of creating and maintaining an effective infrastructure of halal product cycles, as well as new opportunities and challenges in this industry.
