On May, 27 Expocentre opens its doors to the 20th anniversary edition of the Metalloobrabotka exhibition. The press conference with participation of the industry thought leaders and representatives of mainstream and specialised media was devoted to the forthcoming event.

Deputy Director General of Expocentre AO Vladimir Gubernatorov pointed out to a large size of the anniversary edition whose exhibition space will occupy all exhibition pavilions and open air sites of the fairgrounds. New projects, solutions, and products will be showcased by 1,180 companies from 33 countries on more than 41,000 sq m. The participants in Metalloobrabotka are 13 foreign industry associations. National pavilions and group stands will be presented by Belarus, China, Czechia, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the UK.

He also said that 590 leading Russian machine building companies would take part in this year's edition. Moscow, Kaluga, Lipetsk, and Tver regions organised their group stands. The Metalloobrabotka novelty is a showcase of Moscow machine building companies which will participate in the trade show for the first time. The showcase is supported by the Moscow Export Centre.

Metalloobrabotka 2019 traditionally covers nearly all sectors of machinery manufacturing, metalworking, and machine tool building. This year the trade show features new sections such as "Welding and related technologies" and "Robotics and automation of production". According to Vladimir Gubernatorov, the section "Additive manufacturing, industrial 3D printing" first organised a year ago has become well developed.

He also reminded that the Metalloobrabotka exhibition had run since 1984 and hit the world top ten trade shows. Its high standing is confirmed by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).

Metalloobrabotka is traditionally organised by Expocentre AO and the Stankoinstrument Russian Association of Machine-tool Manufacturers and supported by the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Russian Engineering Union. The trade show runs under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

An important part of the Metalloobrabotka 2019 trade show is its rich supporting program that includes about 30 industry events. The key event is the 9th International Forum on Materials Processing Technology, Robotics and Industry 4.0.

President of the Stankoinstrument Russian Association of Machine-tool Manufacturers Georgy Samodurov elaborated on the Forum associated events. He said that important issues concerning the industry development would be considered at the plenary meeting with participation of federal authorities. The moderator of the plenary session will be Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Military and Industrial Commission of the Russian Government Oleg Bochkarev. Five specialised sessions will be available during two days.

Summing up the results of the industry in 2018, the head of the Stankoinstrument Association said that the consumption of machine tool products amounted to 94.5 billion rubles, and the market of products of machine building enterprises reached 31 billion rubles.

"Metalloobrabotka has always been a driver for maintaining competences and exchanging the best practices with global leaders in machine building industry and for bringing together the best experts in this field," said head of Department of Machine Tool Building and Investment Machine Building Department Aleksey Dorozhko. He told about financial and non-financial government support measures of Russian machine building companies implemented by the Ministry. According to him, the amount of financial support last year amounted to about one billion rubles.

Managing Director of STAN OOO Ruslan Zvyagintsev shared his long years' experience and good performance of participation in the Metalloobrabotka exhibition. He emphasized that each edition was an event of the year for the holding's companies.

The official opening of Metalloobrabotka 2019 will run on May, 27 at 12.00 in Blue Hall of Pavilion No.2.
