The best business cases of food and beverage exports and imports were presented at Prodexpo 2020. The event, which was streamed live, was organised by Expocentre AO and the Business Support Center Your Choice.

The sessions had 15 acclaimed speakers with vast business experience from various countries.

SBS Consulting expert Yevgeny Nekrashevich opened the analytical session and presented dynamics and outlook of Russian food exports. According to him, exports are growing 17% a year. According to the preliminary estimates, export deliveries stood at approximately $25 billion in 2019. Meanwhile, net imports reduced drastically over the past five years. Food exports are expected to reach $45 billion by 2024.

The expert noted Russia's problem as an exporter of products with a low degree of processing. Over half of export growth results from grain. Butter and fish are promising export commodities for Russia.

Speaking of criteria of the company's successful operation on foreign markets, Mr. Nekrashevich mentioned partnerships, uniqueness of products, and good prices. The most difficult but most lasting competitive advantage is the creation of a brand product that could win loyal customers.
