The 23rd International Forum of the International Telecommunication Academy 2019 became one of the most significant events in the supporting program of the Sviaz 2019 exhibition held at Expocentre Fairgrounds as part of the Russian Week of High Technologies.

Globalisation is the dominant trend in the modern world, and the subject of the digital economy is everywhere, said Anastasia Ositis, President of the International Telecommunication Academy, when she was opening the Forum. A wide range of Internet based services, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing are becoming relevant for the society today. In some countries, sustainable digital development networks have already been built. The Forum's agenda includes new important tasks related to the digital transformation of the economy, national programs, implementation of digital technologies, development of networks, and the best international practices, she noted.

Anastasia Ositis reminded that the International Telecommunication Academy brought together major scientists, managers, and industry experts from 34 countries including Russia and the CIS united by common interests in theoretical and practical tasks in the field of development of telecommunications and the digital economy relevant today for the whole world.

Discussion of digital transformation of economy began with educational issues. As Vladimir Efimushkin, Deputy General Director of Central Science Research Telecommunication Institute stressed in order to implement this program it was extremely important to have trained personnel. Today it is a high priority task.

According to Artem Adzhemov, President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI), today, thanks to telecommunications, computer equipment has integrated into a global information space playing an increasing role in production and everyday life. The scientist is positive that the development of these systems requires specialists that will have not only relevant technical training, but also technological understanding of how to use them efficiently.

The Forum participants had a detailed discussion of the challenges related to the implementation of future 5G networks and the Internet, electromagnetic compatibility of hardware, and other issues of scientific and practical interest.
