The Prodexpo 2023 international exhibition held at Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the Panel Discussion on Developing the Sales and Distribution of Russian Organic Products: Domestic and Foreign Demand. It was organised by Roskachestvo and EXPOCENTRE AO. 

The moderator of the event, Elena Sarattseva, Deputy Head of Roskachestvo, noted that, despite the difficult economic conditions, we have seen an increase in the number of organic products in our shops.

As stressed by Andrey Yatskin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Russian producers of organic products have every opportunity to function effectively not only in the Russian market, but also in foreign markets. According to him, it is important to promote not only organic products, but also farmer products in general, faster and more professionally.

The development of organic production will mainly depend on enthusiasts in business and in government, said Alexander Borisov, Chairman of the Consumer Market Development Council of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The discussion participants talked about business support, about the development of a law on organic, organic and bio-products, about the general principles of the development of organic agriculture within the Eurasian Economic Commission. It was noted that Russia has huge opportunities for growth in the sphere of organic and natural production, but there is not enough turnover to fully unlock the existing potential.

According to experts, there is a need to develop a culture of consumption as well as to define the appropriate terminology at the legislative level.
