This was the title of a panel organised by EXPOCENTRE in partnership with Neftekhimtrans and the RusIranExpo Group at the Khimia 2022 International Exhibition.

The event’s moderator, CEO of RusIranExpo Alexander Sharov, said that Russian-Iranian cooperation in chemistry and petrochemistry had good prospects, and the topic of interaction with Iranian companies in the new economic conditions was more relevant than ever.

The RusIranExpo Group establishes direct links between exporters and importers in Russia and Iran, with a focus on cooperation with Iranian petrochemical companies, helps to conclude contracts, provides logistics, provides the necessary contacts, marketing and other services.

The panel discussion focused on the technologies and products that the Iranian petrochemicals industry currently needs and what it can offer its Russian partners instead of European chemicals. The panel also highlighted problems related to the delivery of goods and mutual settlements.

One or two large petrochemical plants and several dozen small ones are launched each year in Iran. The Iranian market is thus becoming one of the fastest-growing in Eurasia for oil and gas production and, consequently, for processing oil and gas into chemicals and polymers.

The panel attracted particular attention from representatives of Russian companies interested in exporting to Iran and producing phenol, acetone, butyl acrylate, acrylates, ion exchange resins, activated carbon and a number of other chemical products that Iranian petrochemical companies need today.
