The Russian pavilion has opened today at Foire de Paris. The trade fair is one of the oldest in France which annually brings together about 2,000 participants and a large number of visitors from 60 countries.

This year, Foire de Paris has hosted the national pavilion of the Russian companies engaged in arts and crafts organized by Expocentre AO and supported by Russian Export Center AO and has been one of the largest in recent years.

The Russian pavilion occupies 96 sq m of the exhibition floor in the most attended pavilion of the fair. The Russian pavilion showcases works of 11 Russian medium-sized and small companies from the Moscow, Leningrad, Vladimir, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk, and Nizhny Novgorod regions and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Different genres and areas of folk arts and crafts are demonstrated by such companies as Sakha Taas, EVIS Trade Company, Marfa & Madonna, Semenov Art Manufactory, Jane Doe, Galard, and others.

The original design solution of the Russian pavilion allowed to combine the products of different companies of arts and crafts, traditions and modern style and to demonstrate a sophisticated combination of materials and paints in the common display area. The fair visitors are offered glass products, tableware, ceramic paintings, batik paintings, clothing, accessories, headwear, and jewellery. Souvenirs made of wood, fur, stone, carved miniatures made of fossil ivory, paintings made of semi-precious stones, forged products, dolls and many others attract visitors with its uniqueness.

The participants in the opening ceremony of the Russian pavilion were trade representative of Russia in France Alexander Turov, head of the economic group of the Russian Embassy in France Dmitry Plakhotnyuk, and head of the project to support exports of consumer goods of Russian Export Center Maksim Chapov.

They welcomed the Russian participants and expressed confidence that the Russian pavilion would contribute to promotion of Russian arts and crafts on foreign markets and their integration into modern fashion and culture.  

Participation of Russian exporters in the Foire de Paris supporting events will provide additional opportunities to establish new and strengthen existing business contacts with potential customers from Western Europe and French speaking African countries.
