EXPOCENTRE Director General Sergey Bednov took part in an online meeting of the UFI Board of Directors.

During the meeting, Managing Director Kai Hattendorf reviewed the current activities of the Association, especially those related to the measures taken by UFI to decrease the negative impact of the pandemics on the exhibition industry.

One more topic of discussion was the financial aspects of the UFI activities. In particular, in view of the current situation, it was decided to refrain from annual scheduled membership fee increases in the next two years, and to allow the payment of the fee in three stages. It is also expected that some steps will be taken to minimize expenses due to the reduction of the revenue part of the Association's budget.

As the current global travel restrictions are expected to continue, this year’s annual UFI Congress in November will have a ‘Glocalised’ format. It means that it will run simultaneously in four locations where the regional UFI offices are located.

The next meeting of the UFI Board of Directors is scheduled on 29 July 2020.
