An official opening ceremony of the Khimia 2022 International Exhibition for Chemical Industry and Science took place today. The exhibition is organised for the 25th time by EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chemists Union, NIITEKHIM OAO, the Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, the Chemistry Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. The event is held under auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

This year, 200 companies from India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Belarus, Russia and Turkiye are taking part in the exhibition. The national pavilion was formed by Belarusian participants. 

With the support of regional business development centres, the geography of participation of Russian companies has expanded. Regional group stands of Kaluga, Leningrad, Tula, and Yaroslavl regions and Stavropol Territory were presented at the exhibition. For the first time group stands of the Republic of Mari El, Vladimir and Omsk regions were organised. Khimia 2022 brought together 55 new exhibitors including 7 foreign and 48 Russian companies. 

The product sectors of the exhibition cover all areas of the chemical industry. They are devoted to raw materials for the chemical and petrochemical industry, agrochemistry, oil and gas chemistry, low-tonnage and green chemistry, analytical, laboratory, industrial pumping and compressor equipment, polymer materials, the latest technologies and scientific developments, automation, digitalisation of production and much more. 

Special attention is given to the topic of innovation and high-tech. As part of the Startup ChemZone section, the Centre for Assistance to Innovative Development has been set up for the first time. Organisations supporting small innovative businesses, including the Moscow Innovation Agency, are involved in its work.

A varied conference programme will complement the ChemZone 2022 exposition.   More than 30 events will be held on technological sovereignty and development of the Russian chemical industry in the new realities, state support for chemical enterprises, application of innovative materials, environmental issues and other important industry topics. 

Sergey Selivanov, First Deputy Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, was a moderator of the official opening ceremony of Khimia 2022.   

Mikhail Ivanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, who spoke at the ceremony, noted that Khimia 2022 was a traditional meeting place for manufacturers and consumers of chemical products, developers and suppliers of advanced technologies and equipment. And the conference programme of the exhibition, according to him, will cover a wide range of topical issues and enable representatives of the industry to strengthen business ties, establish work with partners and customers, as well as discuss promising vectors of development of the Russian chemistry. 

Alexey Nechayev, Head of the State Duma New People Fraction, Maria Vasilkova, Chairman of the Expert Council for Development of the Chemical Industry at the State Duma Committee for Industry and Commerce, and Victor Ivanov, President of the Russian Chemists Union, congratulated the exhibitors, visitors and organisers of the Khimia 2022 exhibition on the opening.

Alexey Vyalkin, Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, gave a warm welcome on behalf of the organiser. He thanked the guests of honour who had supported the organisation of the exhibition and expressed his gratitude to all participating companies for having chosen the venue of Expocentre Fairgrounds. He also assured that EXPOCENTRE's team will continue to do their best to make their work at the exhibition as comfortable and productive as possible.
