The 26th edition of the International Exhibition for the Chemical Industry and Science – Khimia 2023 – has opened its doors at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds, Moscow. The event is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chemists Union, NIITEKHIM OAO, the Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, the Chemistry Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  

Khimia 2023 welcomes about 500 exhibitors from Belarus, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russian, Turkiye, the UAE, and Uzbekistan. There are also national pavilions of Belarus, China and India.

Thanks to the active participation of regional business support centres, 11 Russian regions take part in Khimia 2023 with group stands and pavilions: Belgorod, Kaluga, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Smolensk, Sverdlovsk, Tula and Voronezh Oblasts, Stavropol Krai, and the Republic of Tatarstan.

The exhibition brings together company executives, researchers, developers, and government officials to discuss industry development issues. Leading companies, industry research centres and universities, innovative start-ups and small enterprises demonstrate advanced technologies, new engineering solutions, raw materials and equipment.

Khimia 2023 covers all areas of chemical production and includes a number of product sectors: Chemical and Petrochemical Industry, Chemmash.Pumps, Chem-Lab-Analyt, Green Chemistry, CORRUS – Protection Against Corrosion, Startup Chemzone, Plastics Industry Show, etc.

Special attention is paid to innovation and high-tech. The show traditionally includes such an important section as Startup ChemZone. Eleven companies – industry startups and small enterprises – will present their developments to a wide range of potential investors and major market players.

The central event of the Khimia 2023 conference programme is the 11th Moscow International Chemical Forum with the participation of representatives of chemical enterprises, relevant ministries and industry associations.

Opening the official opening ceremony of Khimia 2023, First Deputy General Director at EXPOCENTRE AO Sergey Selivanov stressed that this year the exhibition had shown significant growth. The floor space and the number of exhibitors increased two and a half times compared to last year.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Mikhail Yurin said that the ministry and the Russian Chemists Union had prepared an extensive conference programme. The next four days will be used to discuss pressing issues facing the industry in order to find ways to achieve the stated objectives.

President at the Russian Chemists Union Viktor Ivanov congratulated everyone on the opening of Khimia 2023. He invited interested industry professionals to the 11th Moscow International Chemical Forum dedicated to the current problems of the chemical industry.

Khimia 2023 is open till 2 November.
