The 33rd edition of the International Exhibition for Furniture, Fittings and Upholstery Mebel 2022 opened today at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. 

This year, 667 companies from 12 countries are exhibiting, including leading international and Russian manufacturers. A diverse range of furniture products is presented on a total area of more than 70,000 square metres in all of EXPOCENTRE's main pavilions (Nos. 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and Forum). Turkiye with more than 70 exhibitors and China with 46 exhibitors organised large national pavilions. They brought upholstered and cabinet furniture, furniture fittings and furniture fabrics to the exhibition. 

More than 500 companies represent the Russian furniture industry. This year, 20 regions are supporting and financing the participation of their manufacturers in the exhibition. There are group stands of companies from the Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad, Kirov, Leningrad, Ulyanovsk, Penza, Rostov, Ryazan, Yaroslavl regions, the Republic of Udmurtia and the Republic of Mari El. 

Mebel 2022 is not only a showcase of the achievements of the furniture industry, but also a large-scale business forum with a busy programme. The conference programme of the exhibition was opened by the 2nd Russian Conference of Furniture Manufacturers, organised by the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia and EXPOCENTRE AO. The conference was moderated by Timur Irtuganov, Director General of the Association. 

Welcoming the conference delegates and all exhibitors, Sergey Selivanov, First Deputy Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, noted that over the years Mebel had become a unique project representing the entire technological cycle of furniture production - from components, materials and equipment to finished products and design solutions. Compared to the previous year, the exhibition has grown, he stated, stressing that its success "largely depends on our regular partners and participants, with whom we are connected by many years of friendship and cooperation". 

Sergey Selivanov expressed his gratitude to the exhibition sponsor Kastamonu. He also congratulated one of the most reliable partners of EXPOCENTRE AO, the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia, on its 25th anniversary this year.

On behalf of the management of EXPOCENTRE AO, Sergey Selivanov presented Alexander Shestakov, President of the Association, with a memorable diploma "for a long-term partnership, contribution to the development of the furniture industry, active participation in EXPOCENTRE’s exhibitions and on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Association". The first deputy head of EXPOCENTRE also presented a commemorative diploma to Ali Kylych, General Director of Kastamonu.

Oleg Bocharov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Sergey Radchenko, Member of the Supervisory Board of Angstrem Group, and other heads of leading industry companies and the profile committee of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took an active part in the conference. They discussed in detail the current state, trends and prospects of development of the furniture market and the industry's enterprises.
