subscribe to news Mebel promotes development of the Russian furniture industry

According to the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia, the volume of furniture production in Russia increased by 15% in monetary terms to 356 billion roubles at the end of 2022. The biggest growth in production was seen in the kitchen and upholstered furniture segments. According to Alexander Shestakov, the Association President, consumer prices for furniture increased by 11% in 2022 (this figure is lower than the annual inflation). The departure of foreign companies, according to experts, has had little effect on Russian furniture manufacturers. Companies have been able to adapt to the prevailing conditions, find new partners, and some manufacturers have already been able to enter new export markets.

The Mebel exhibition, the largest industry event held annually at Expocentre Fairgrounds, plays an important role in the promotion of furniture products, both in Russia and abroad. The exhibition makes it possible to showcase furniture to a wide target audience: wholesale buyers, interior designers, corporate buyers, potential franchisors, etc.

Given IKEA's unexpected withdrawal from the Russian market, the exhibition provided an opportunity to introduce companies to the Swedish brand's suppliers and to establish direct cooperation with trade and manufacturing enterprises in Russia and the CIS.

According to the participants, the Mebel exhibition helps to increase sales, find new solutions for business development, effectively collaborate with designers and manufacturers, and unite and develop the industry as a whole.

667 companies from 12 countries exhibited at Mebel 2022. 36,727 visitors from 60 countries and 88 regions of Russia attended the exhibition.
