17th International Exhibition for Machinery, Equipment and Technology for Logging, Woodworking and Furniture Industries

Lesdrevmash 2018 has once again confirmed its status of Russia’s key trade show and business networking platform in the timber industry. 

In comparison to its previous edition in 2016, Lesdrevmash has grown by 15%. According to Expocentre's general freight forwarder, the total tonnage of exhibited equipment increased 1.65 fold in comparison to 2016.

Key Associated Events

The key associated event of Lesrevmash 2018 was the 9th edition of the Forest and Man International Forum. It is organised by the Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters of Russia, Expocentre AO, Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Centrlesexpo OAO with support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and Federal Forestry Agency of Russia. The forum opened with a panel on the Russian Timber Industry in the Global Market. Russian and foreign experts discussed problems and development prospects of the timber industry. Foreign participants talked about the international practices in forest management and wood processing. 

Other panels covered different important topics:

  • Russia-China: Cooperation in the Timber Industry
  • Research and Education Trends in the Timber Industry
  • Forest Conservation and Regeneration  
  • Development Prospects  of the Pulp and Paper Industry in Russia  
  • Development of the Market of Non-Wood Forest Resources  
  • Cooperation Between Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in the Timber Industry  
  • Environmental Aspects of Timber Industry Development. Waste, Emissions, Recycling   

The forum also featured various sections on the most relevant topics, conferences and workshops with participation of more than 400 representatives of companies from Europe, Americas, Asia, international associations, Russian enterprises and industry associations.

Participants in the Convention of the Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters of Russia discussed the most important issues of the Russian timber industry and main areas of the Union's activities in 2018–2022.  

The Forum on Forestry Machine Building of Russia was organised by the Drevmash Russian Association of Organizations and Enterprises of Woodworking Machine Building with support of the Board of the Russian Military-Industrial Commission and Expocentre AO. The forum generated a lot of interest among industry professionals and brought together representatives of the Russian government, professional machine-building associations, and major enterprises of woodworking machine building to discuss the most pressing issues of the industry, use of the innovative technologies, machinery and equipment, and present the latest developments.  

The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Russian Export Center AO and Expocentre AO organised the Consultation Session of the Russian Export Center: About Support Instruments for Export of Woodworking Equipment. The main topic of the session was promotion of Russian non-resource exports.   

Lesdrevmash hosted the 7th meeting of the Club of Heads of Trade and Economic Missions of Foreign States accredited in Moscow. This time it was devoted to export of timber products, support measures, attraction of investments, and logistics.

The Lesnaya Industriya magazine published a daily bulletin about new exhibited products and events, exhibitor feedback, interviews of company heads, reviews of past events and announcements of upcoming events. The bulletin was distributed among Lesdrevmash exhibitors and visitors.

During his state visit to Russia, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte visited Expocentre Fairgrounds to meet Italian businessmen who were taking part in Lesdrevmash within the Italian National Pavilion.  The prime minister drew attention to the importance of having Italian-made machinery in the markets of Russia and the CIS. 

The exhibitor feedback confirms the success and efficiency of Lesdrevmash 2018.

The next 18th edition of the exhibition, Lesdrevmash 2020, will run at Expocentre Fairgrounds from 19 through 22 October 2020.
