Participants in the Russian Forum of Volunteers gathered at Expocentre
The Russian Forum of Volunteers opened its doors at Expocentre. The Forum visitors were well-known public figures, leaders of volunteer teams, government officials and, of course, volunteers of different ages.
First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko addressed the participants in the national forum of volunteers and stated that the law on volunteering would be elaborated taking into account the interests of volunteers. “We approached the Association of Volunteer Centres and asked them about the law. Everybody unanimously raised their hands and said that the law was necessary and that’s what matters. This law is not for officials but for volunteers. If they need it, we should adopt it”, said Sergei Kiriyenko.
The forum brought together more than 2,000 participants at Expocentre. Active volunteers and organizers of volunteering activities along with expert community discuss the most relevant topics such as “Unlocking of potential of generations through volunteering”, “Strategy for development of volunteering in Russia”, “International volunteering”, “Cooperation between volunteers and the government”, “Volunteering in the education system”, “Best practices of joint programs with business”, “Environmental volunteering”, and others.
