Video conference participants congratulated on GED17
On June, 7 the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF) held a video conference devoted to Global Exhibitions Day. It has been established on the initiative of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and is celebrated for the second time this year.
The conference participants were heads of RUEF member companies, representatives of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, foreign colleagues, and journalists.
UFI Managing Director Kai Hattendorf welcomed the conference participants and said that 64 countries had already joined GED17.
When opening the conference RUEF President Sergey Alexeev pointed out that not only exhibition industry professionals took part in that holiday but also over 200 industry associations involved in the trade show business.
RUEF Vice President, Expocentre General Director Sergey Bednov congratulated colleagues in Russia and abroad. “We decided to celebrate this holiday in a businesslike manner,” said Sergey Bednov. “We’ve held a photo contest devoted to Global Exhibitions Day. Two days ago we awarded the winner at the official opening of the Mir Stekla 2017 exhibition. Today, Komsomolskaya Pravda (Russian newspaper) published an article devoted to trade shows and their influence on development of our country’s economy. I think GED17 will be a consolidation day for the whole exhibition community.”
Heads of Russian exhibition companies, e.g., Pyotr Gritsenko (Kaliningrad), Sergey Kirsanov (St.Petersburg), Yury Zahkarchenko (Sochi), and many others also extended congratulations to their colleagues. Head of Moscow Convention and Exhibition Bureau Andrey Zhukovsky provided marketing research data to demonstrate the importance of trade shows for Russia’s economy and GDP growth.
Employees of trade show companies organized a flash mob and released white balloons with GED17 logo.
