Children’s Industry Congress highlights preparation for the Decade of Childhood
The Mir Detstva 2017 supporting program featured the Children’s Industry Congress. It is supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade in cooperation with Expocentre AO and is one of key events in the industry. The participants in the congress are CEOs of manufacturing and trading companies, representatives of federal and regional authorities, the executive branch and industry experts.
The congress was opened with a plenary meeting on the Industry of Future Generations with participation of Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Olga Golodets, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of the Federation Committee on Budget and Financial Markets Elena Perminova, First Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma of Russia Svetlana Zhurova, Head of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing Anna Popova, and General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Svetlana Chupsheva. The event was moderated by People’s artist of Russia Dmitry Malikov.
The meeting participants discussed approaches to the organization of the Decade of Childhood (while implementing the decree about the Declaration of 2018-2027 the Decade of Childhood in Russia as of 29 May 2017 signed by Russian President).
While answering the moderator’s question, Denis Manturov elaborated on the problems of school uniform manufacturing. He informed of its growing production and quality. At the same time regions solve the problems of the uniform affordability for parents via subsidies and other methods. The Minister also touched upon the issues concerning counterfeit products including products for children. Nowadays there is being developed special labelling of different goods for a buyer to find out everything about the origin of the goods using a mobile application.
The congress was held for three days. It featured meetings of the sectoral working groups, panel discussions, practical sessions, round tables and lectures. The attendees discussed the issues on development of production of children’s goods, sales promotion, export support, possibilities of modern media, and cooperation of licensees, right holders and retailers.
