The Conference on Gas Compression and Separation Technologies took place within the conference programme of Neftegaz 2024. The event was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of the Association of Compressor Factories.

The conference participants discussed new products in the field of compressor equipment, compression, and gas separation, as well as discussed the current state of the oil and gas sector. The event was moderated by Mikhail Kryukov, Deputy Chair at the Management Board of the Association of Compressor Factories.

Timur Gafarov, a representative of the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, opened the conference. He spoke about a separate sectoral regulation for the fuel and energy complex, created at the request of oil and gas companies. It is planned to be implemented this year. He also pointed out that the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade had reformatted the work in the field of import substitution, identifying seven priority areas of the industry, correlating with the planned system of industry development and affecting, among others, compressor equipment.

Vyacheslav Shipov, Head of Import Substitution of Power and Compressor Equipment at Gazprom Neft, noted that consolidation of oil and gas companies was necessary to establish productive cooperation. According to Vyacheslav Shipov, it is quite a difficult task in a market economy but it is important for the development of Russia's technological sovereignty. At present, joint efforts of the Russian government and representatives of domestic companies are making steps towards this end.

Evgeny Slobodov, President at MV&F, made a historical reference on the contribution of Russian scientists to the oil and gas industry. He noted that such a phenomenon as import substitution had appeared in Russia back in the times of Peter the Great.

In addition, Denis Kopachev, Commercial Director at KKZ, presented a report on modern models of domestically produced gas separation membranes. Artem Terentyev, AGV sales manager, spoke about import substitution of components in the design of domestic reciprocating compressors. The conference was concluded by Dmitry Kokorin, Head of Sales Department at Energy Management, who spoke about the activities of the supplier of imported equipment during the period of sanctions pressure and withdrawal of foreign companies from the Russian market.
