On the Day of Russian Science, Maxim Fateev, Acting Director General at EXPOCENTRE AO, took part in the press conference dedicated to summing up the results of the Science and Inventions for Life festival, legislative initiatives in the sphere of scientific achievements and intellectual property in Russia, as well as announcing the programme of the upcoming Congress of VOIR, the Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators.

“It is extremely important for us that inventions, after they are patented, go into industrial development and are commercialised,” Maxim Fateev stressed, speaking at the press conference. That is why the interaction between VOIR and the system of regional chambers of commerce and industry and EXPOCENTRE is of particular importance.

He reminded that the active interaction with VOIR began in October 2022 with the conclusion of a tripartite cooperation agreement between VOIR, CCI of Russia and EXPOCENTRE AO.

Maxim Fateev called the practice of holding such events as the VOIR festival on Science and Inventions for Life, which was held in 2023 at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds as part of Russian Industry Week, effective and useful. Here young scientists, inventors, those for whom the future of our country’s technological sovereignty lies, demonstrated their developments to medium, large and small companies, said Maxim Fateev. He expressed his readiness to continue holding such events and reminded that all trade shows held by EXPOCENTRE for 65 years of its activity are organised in close cooperation with the leading universities of this country. A few years ago, VOIR also joined this cooperation.

Vladimir Kononov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education and Chairman of the VOIR Central Council, Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Yuri Zubov, Head of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), First Vice Rector of the National University of Science and Technology MISIS, member of the Presidium of the VOIR Central Council Sergey Salikhov and inventor, winner of the grand prize at the Inventor of the Year 2023 competition Andrei Krasikov  told about the results of the festival, elaboration of a new strategy for the development of VOIR and measures of state support for inventors.
