Maxim Fateev, Director General of EXPOCENTRE and Head of the Committee for Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took part in the plenary session of the Russia-Brazil Business Forum, which was held in Rio de Janeiro on 3 July.

His report was dedicated to trade shows as a tool for promoting trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Brazil. Mr. Fateev drew attention to the growing importance of the exhibition industry for the current economy. He also presented the capabilities of the company's exhibitions as an effective channel for promoting goods and services of Brazilian companies to the Russian market.

“Every year, more than 300 million professional visitors and 5 million exhibitors worldwide choose exhibitions as the most effective communication channel. We invite the Brazilian business to use this platform more actively to enter the Russian market,” said the director general of EXPOCENTRE.

Maxim Fateev noted that the trade turnover between Russia and Brazil had more than tripled over the last four years. The participation of Brazilian companies in Moscow exhibitions can give this dynamic an additional boost. He said that EXPOCENTRE annually organizes 27 major international trade shows, most of which are UFI certified and supported by Russian relevant ministries and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to Maxim Fateev, Brazilian companies regularly take part in trade shows of EXPOCENTRE. At the same time, given the potential for growth in the volume and range of Brazilian exports to Russia, Brazilian companies could participate more actively in these shows. In particular, these are projects in the energy, construction, telecom, and healthcare industries, and other promising areas.
