Moscow’s World Trade Center hosted an award ceremony for the winners in the Golden Mercury National Award for Entrepreneurship in 2024.
The Award was established by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is now held with the support of the Russian Federation Council and the Russian State Duma. Chair at the Russian Council of Federation Valentina Matvienko, Chair at the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov forwarded their address to the ceremony’s participants and winners.
The ceremony was opened by President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin. According to him, the Golden Mercury Award remains one of the most important symbols of public recognition of the achievements of entrepreneurs throughout this country. In 2025, 46 finalists received the award. They are small and medium-sized enterprises, individual entrepreneurs, exporters, banks, and experts from different regions of Russia.
“Now we have eleven main and six special nominations. The competition is growing every year. This year, more than 1,400 companies participated in it at the regional level. There were 428 applications received at the federal stage from those selected by the regional chambers and our councils and committees. We created 14 expert groups that evaluated each company. The first part of the assessment is automated and based on economic indicators. No one can influence it. But the second part is an expert one, where all the submitted materials are analyzed manually,” said Sergey Katyrin.
“We are not limited to award ceremonies here in Moscow," continued the chamber’s president. “We are forwarding information about the winners and runner-ups to all regions, informing the governors and their teams. We propose to use the potential of the winners at the regional level. We share best practices among entrepreneurs through our chamber system. We grant the right to use the award winner's badge in marketing. It is especially important for us that we invite many of the winners to work in our system, i.e., in regional chambers, committees, and councils.”
Maxim Fateev expressed gratitude to the executives of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for a new special nomination that was launched last year, called Demonstrating the Future – an Innovative Breakthrough at an Exhibition.
The finalists of this special nomination received awards from Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO Maxim Fateev, Chair of the Russian State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Alexander Demin, and Member of the Russian State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes Valery Skrug.
“Thanks to the active support of the heads of chambers of commerce and industry in the Russian regions, the interest of the business community in this nomination has increased significantly this year," said Maxim Fateev. “Twenty-five applications from twenty-two regional chambers were sent to the federal stage of the competition. Today's winners are regular participants in the most technologically advanced exhibitions of EXPOCENTRE such as Metalloobrabotka (metalworking), Photonics, Neftegaz (oil and gas), and Agroprodmash (food processing). They annually showcase a huge number of Russian innovative developments.
“I am positive that we will continue to expand the participation of regional companies in our exhibitions as part of the cooperation programme of EXPOCENTRE and regional chambers of commerce and industry. We will also involve them in the competition, contributing to the promotion of innovative developments.”
The Golden Mercury Award is held with the support from its official partner PhosAgro, business partners World Trade Center and EXPOCENTRE, and with participation of its general media partner Public Television of Russia, and other media partners.
