On 10 April, the press centre of the Rossiya Segodnya International Media Group hosted an award ceremony for the winners in the 30th Russian Competition “The Economic Revival of Russia”.

The competition was established in 1993 by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Journalists of Russia. It was the first professional review of media representatives writing on economic topics. It was conceived to stimulate the development of the economic direction in Russian journalism and the objective reflection by the media of the problems of the development and success of Russian entrepreneurship. More than 1,000 journalists from all regions of Russia participate in the contest every year.

“Our competition has existed and has been working successfully for 30 years. First of all, it is the merit of all those who help us organise it,” said Sergey Katyrin, President at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the ceremony, thanking the co-organisers, sponsors and partners.

According to him, thanks to journalists it is possible to “break the deadlock”, get additional voices in support of topical ideas and proposals from the business community, deputies and senators.

Dmitry Kiselev, Director General at the Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency, speaking at the ceremony, said that “it is becoming more difficult to write about economic topics, because the world is becoming more complex, but therefore more interesting”.

In his speech at the ceremony, Maxim Fateev, Acting Director General at EXPOCENTRE AO, stressed that EXPOCENTRE pays special attention to cooperation with Russian regions together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and business support centres that organise participation in exhibitions. This partnership plays a key role in ensuring the successful development of Russian business in Russia and internationally.

The competition partners were the International Financial Club (IFC Bank), PhosAgro, ICL Group, World Trade Centre and EXPOCENTRE AO.
