On 24-26 April 2023, the INNOPROM: Central Asia 2023 annual international industrial exhibition was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The Russian delegation of leading industrial market players was represented by the Made in Russia pavilion organised by the Russian Export Center AO. The exhibition operator is EXPOCENTRE AO.

INNOPROM: Central Asia 2023 has been attracting great public attention for several years now. This time, more than 10,000 people from 24 countries and more than 240 exhibitors attended the exhibition.

National pavilions were presented by Russia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus. Regional group stands from Moscow, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chuvash Republic, the Udmurt Republic, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Novgorod, Orenburg, Penza, Ryazan, Saratov, Sverdlovsk, Tomsk, and Chelyabinsk Oblasts also presented their products at the exhibition.

The Made in Russia pavilion was one of the most representative, having more than tripled in scale compared to 2022: 59 Russian exporters presented a wide range of high tech industrial products including a pre-shift employee inspection terminal, the Bort locomotive safety system, a desktop interactive video studio for distance learning, an innovative 5D printer, logistics robots, charging stations for electric cars, and much more.

During the exhibition, 485 business meetings were held with more than 80 foreign potential partners in the B2B negotiation format. The total export potential of the negotiations held and agreements signed is estimated at $45 million.

During the exhibition, eight cooperation agreements were signed between Russian companies and Uzbek partners.

On the second day of the exhibition, the Made in Russia pavilion was visited by a government delegation led by Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The final day was also marked by successful b2b meetings and cooperation agreements. For instance, a Memorandum of Intent was signed at the exhibition to elaborate a comprehensive raw materials cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan. The document envisages the development of the textile and garment industry of the two countries through joint efforts.

On 26 April, Russian Export Center held a round table on Industrialisation 2.0. Technological Cooperation of Russia and Uzbekistan: HR Training, Export of Technologies, Joint Ventures Development. The round table was attended by representatives of business and relevant agencies. The thematic session was focused on the issues of technological cooperation between the two countries, including training of qualified personnel for the Uzbek industry, equipping Uzbek production sites with Russian equipment, technology transfer and creation of joint ventures, localisation and export opportunities to third countries.

The rapidly developing economies of Uzbekistan and Central Asia offer good prospects and make the region’s market attractive to Russian exporters. Russian technologies and equipment are in demand in this market due to their functionality and high quality, favourable pricing policy, flexible delivery terms, specifics and needs of local buyers, availability of service centres, and other factors.

The INNOPROM. Central Asia 2023 is extremely important in strengthening and expanding the existing cooperation and bilateral trade between Russia and Uzbekistan, as well as promoting Russian exports of non-resource high tech products to the Central Asian market.
