The 17th edition of the Optoelectronic Information Industry Innovation and Development Exhibition and Forum OVC EXPO 2024 was concluded in Wuhan (China) at the Wuhan Optics Valley Convention & Exhibition Center on 18 May.
OVC EXPO 2024 was a success, occupying about 30 thousand square metres and presenting a showcase in all exhibition halls of the venue.
The Russian pavilion was organised by EXPOCENTRE together with the Laser Association. It featured eight Russian innovative enterprises from Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg and Mordovia, interested in developing cooperation with Chinese partners.
The 17th China Optical Valley Laser Summit was held by the Laser Association and the Center for Chinese-Russian Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Hubei Province within the conference programme on 16 May. More than 120 offline and more than 800 online delegates from China participated in it. Eight Russian participants made presentations of their advanced technologies and developments. The summit was attended by Ivan Kovsh, President at the Laser Association, and other leading industry experts from Russia.
Both Russian and Chinese participants highly appreciated the practical potential of Russian products and solutions, and discussed areas of development of bilateral industry cooperation and preparation for upcoming joint events, including leading relevant trade shows.
Russian exhibitors toured large industrial facilities located in Wuhan that use modern laser cutting, welding and surface treatment technologies.
Intensive work of the Russian delegation with Chinese counterparties, including meetings and negotiations with industrial enterprises, industry associations, relevant universities and research centres, continued all three days of the exhibition.
The Russian and Chinese parties stressed the great value of the Russian-Chinese dialogue and exchange of advanced experience in laser technology, photonics and optoelectronics for the development of the industry. They also noted the importance of trade shows and congresses on photonics held in Russia and China for the development of cooperation between the two countries.
