19th Edition of International Exhibition for Laser, Optical and Optoelectronic Technologies
1–4 April 2025

The 19th edition of the International Exhibition for Laser, Optical and Optoelectronic Technologies – Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics 2025 – took place at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds on 1–4 April 2025 with great success. It once again confirmed its status as the largest industry event, which brings together manufacturers, researchers, developers, and customers of photon technologies from Russia and other countries.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Yury Kulchin, Vice President at the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yury Olenin, Deputy Director General for Research and Strategy at the ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation, Sergey Popov, Deputy General Director for R&D at Shvabe, head of the priority technological direction for optoelectronics and photonics technologies, Nikolay Evtikhiev, General Director at VPG Lazerone, Sergey Gaponenko, President at the Scientific and Technical Association for Optics and Lasers of the Republic of Belarus, Zhu Xiao, Honorary President at the Laser Association of Hubei Province (China), and Ivan Kovsh, President at the Laser Association.

Show highlights
This year’s newcomers were Yandex SDG, Paras Defence & Space Technologies Ltd. (India), GKMP Research and Production Company, and GosNIIAS State Research Institute of Aviation Systems.
The numerous exhibits included new generation colour holography from Special Systems. Photonics, laser welding in Antarctic conditions from LASERCUT, laser rangefinders for UAV detection, high-speed cameras NEO 25M/C-RU (up to 1 million frames per second), hyperspectral cameras from Azimuth Photonics, new-generation infrared filters from Giricond, high-precision laser modules from LLC, and many others.
Conference programme
The conference programme of Photonics 2025 featured more than 20 events including:
- the 13th Congress of the Photonics Technological Platform (18 conferences),
- the Assembly of the Laser Association,
- the meetings of the Physical Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Radiophotonics Council,
- the Panel on Russian-Chinese Cooperation in Photonics.
The participants in the 13th Congress of the Photonics Technological Platform and meetings of the Physical Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences discussed prospects of quantum technologies, optical sensorics, and Russian optical networks. Speakers included the Russian Academy of Sciences, T8, Institute of Radio-engineering and Electronics at the Russian Academy of Science, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, and other leaders the industry.
During the Russia-China panel discussion, the participants worked out proposals for the development of cooperation and publication activities.
Photonics 2025 has once again become an important platform for professional dialogue, demonstration of advanced technologies and development of human resources. The exhibition demonstrated that photonics is a driver of scientific and technological growth. It becomes not only a high-tech industry, but also a factor of foreign economic cooperation.
The 20th anniversary edition of the International Exhibition for Laser, Optical and Optoelectronic Technologies – Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics 2026 – will take place from 31 March through 2 April 2026 at Timiryazev Centre, Moscow, Russia. It will be a new location for the show.
