A Russian pavilion organised by the Laser Association and Expocentre AO opened at the international laser, photonics, and optoelectronics show OVC EXPO 2019 in Wuhan, China, on November 13.

The Russian pavilion brings together stands of five enterprises from Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg. They demonstrate advanced technologies of diode lasers, adaptive optical systems, industrial machine tools, technological laser metal cutting systems, equipment for laser engraving and other precision metal working and laser detectors.

Besides, the pavilion presents mass products ready for export. Chinese visitors and the press have taken interest in the Alkoramka system made in St. Petersburg, which remotely detects ethanol vapors in human breath for highly effective express testing of personnel of airports and big enterprises.

Traditionally, the Russian pavilion is supplemented with a special event programme prepared by the Laser Association and Expocentre AO with the assistance of the Laser Association of the Hubei Province and the Committee on the China-Russia Scientific-Technical Cooperation operating under the government of the Hubei province. The Russian delegation led by Laser Association President Ivan Kovsh visited the National Optoelectronics Innovation Center in Wuhan, a new training-and-research laboratory of the Department of Optical and Electronic Information of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and showrooms and production facilities of HG Tech Group which manufactures laser systems for various purposes, including metal cutting and precision application of protective images.

The 13th International Laser Summit of China's Optics Valley will take place on November 14 as part of the OVC EXPO programme. Seventeen reports will be presented by leading Russian and Chinese experts. Russian enterprises will demonstrate their products at the Laser Summit.

OVC EXPO is a productive venue demonstrating photonics and optoelectronics innovations and facilitating exchange of information and development of global cooperation between enterprises of the industry. It is organised by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Information Technology, the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

This year, the exhibition has brought together over 400 enterprises from 20 countries and regions. It is expected to be visited by over 26,000 industry professionals. OVC EXPO 2019 will end on November 15.
