The Conference on the Food of the Future: Specialised and Fortified Food – a Path to Health Protection will take place at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds on 9 February. It is one of the most anticipated events of the extensive conference programme of the Prodexpo 2022 International Exhibition for Food, Beverages and Food Raw Materials (7–11 February). 

It will be the second edition of the conference. It is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO with participation of the Federal Research Institute of Nutrition and Biotechnology as part of the recently created Health, Nutrition, Demographics Consortium, which, among other things, is engaged in research aimed at creating new types of Russian made specialised food products for all population groups of this country.

Last year's Food of the Future conference generated great interest in the professional community of nutritionists and food industry professionals, as well as exhibitors and visitors to Prodexpo 2021.

Head of Research at the Federal Research Institute of Nutrition and Biotechnology, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Viktor Tutelyan will speak at the conference this year. He will speak about the Health, Nutrition, Demographics Consortium as "the most effective mechanism for introducing innovative technologies in the food industry."

Director at the Federal Research Institute of Nutrition and Biotechnology, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Dmitry Nikityuk will have a report 'Sports Nutrition Today as the Vanguard of the Future.'

Conference participants will also discuss non-traditional food sources and their safety assessment approaches, innovative developments in food fortification, dietary fibres and sweeteners in the production of new foodstuffs and other relevant issues.
