Russian Health Care Week 2022 featured the 4th Congress on Health Resort Industry. Science. Results organised by the National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Health Resort Therapy of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, the National Association of Experts in Spa Treatment with the support of EXPOCENTRE AO.

The Congress began with a presentation by Maxim Yakovlev, Deputy Director for Strategic Development of Medical Activities at the Russian Ministry of Health Care. The presentation outlined the key aspects of integrating research and development into the practical activities of health resort organisations in the Russian Federation.

"The main task is to improve the quality of medical care, the quality control of which includes the assessment of human resources, examination of the provision of medical care to patients, identification and justification of defects in medical care and other factors that have a negative effect, as well as the preparation of recommendations and selection of the most appropriate management decisions," the speaker said.

Olga Yurova, Deputy Director for Educational and Scientific Activities at the Russian Ministry of Health Care, spoke about the development of the human resources potential in the health and spa industry in the Russian Federation. She gave an analysis of the conditions and requirements for educational activities, outlining the main objectives of personnel policy and training in the field of medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment.

"To develop human resources, it is necessary to ensure continuous education and training of medical workers in the field of health resorts, to develop interactive modules of programmes for advanced training of medical workers, to inform employees of medical organisations about the possibilities of the health resort industry of the Russian Federation", - stressed Olga Yurova.

The Congress was also attended by physiotherapist Tatiana Konchugova, Chief Scientific Associate, Head of Physiotherapy and Reflexology Department, Gennady Tereshin, Head of Medical Care Organisation Department of the National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Health Resort Therapy, Alexey Zharkov, Head of the Centre for Testing and Examination of Natural Medicinal Resources at the National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Health Resort Therapy, and Natalia Tumanova-Ponomareva, Head of Drug Provision Analysis and Medical Devices Circulation Department at the National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Health Resort Therapy, and other leading experts.

The speakers discussed innovative methods of health resort treatment, medical rehabilitation in health resort organisations, requirements for the formation of comprehensive health resort treatment programmes, natural healing resources as a tool to increase the attractiveness of health resort organisations and other important topics.
