01/04

One of the most important events of the supporting program of the RENWEX 2019. Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicles international exhibition held at Expocentre Fairgrounds was an extended meeting of the Expert Council on Research and Technological Development and Intellectual Property of the Russian State Duma Committee on Education and Science.

The meeting was on Human Resources for the Field of RES: Global Agenda. Chairman of the Expert Council, academician Mikhail Paltsev pointed out that the issue brought for discussion at the meeting was very complicated. According to him, today's task is not only to train staff for new sectors but train those who will train the staff in the future. The number of universities, which are highly rated in the economic sector, is not numerous. Today, before inviting graduates of even leading universities to work at his/her company, the employer examines them, holds interviews and individual tests, because graduates often turn out to be not ready for practice, said the scientist.

Moderator of the meeting, member of the Russian State Duma Committee Vladimir Kononov agreed with him. He said that staff training in the power industry was done using the approaches that had been created fifty years before. Explorative thinking is practically not developed during the education process. In most cases when graduating from the university students cannot seek technological solutions, work out their possible implementation, and calculate efficiency, stated the Deputy.

Heads of many leading universities made their speeches at the meeting. They discussed the best world practices in training of specialists in the field of renewable energy, integration of science and education for this purpose, approaches and methods allowing making the process of education more adaptable to new conditions in the RES industry and other important issues.
