Technoforum 2019 has opened its doors at Expocentre Fairgrounds. This year it is the first time that this exhibition is held as part of the Science-Technology-Innovations Expo (NTI Expo) project, which brings together events devoted to Russian national projects and digitalisation of economy.   

According to the opening ceremony's moderator Deputy of the Russian State Duma and Chairman of the NTI Expo Organising Committee Vladimir Kononov, Technoforum is Russia's only exhibition, which brings together under one roof all types of equipment, tools and devices for machining of both natural and mad-made materials. Technoforum 2019 and its events draw a lot of attention to additive manufacturing, robotics, cybersecurity and AI. This year the exhibition welcomes 150 companies from Belarus, China, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Lichtenstein, Russia, Turkey, Switzerland and Ukraine.   

Technoforum is organised by Expocentre AO in partnership with Stankoinstrument – the Russian Association of Machine-Tool Manufacturers, with support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian State Duma Committee on Education and Science, and under auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.   

During the opening ceremony Russian First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Sergey Tsyb read a welcome address of Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. He also talked about the importance of Technoforum as one of the key events boosting the development of industrial technologies.

General Director of Expocentre AO Sergey Bednov said that the show had added 1,500 sq m to its exhibition space in comparison to 2018. Its two new product sectors are Robotics and Industrial Automation, and Welding and Related Technologies. The number of Russian exhibitors has also increased.  

Expocentre's head also talked about such an important part of Technoforum 2019 as its supporting events. These events will be devoted to the most important issues of the industry. The Panel on Digitalisation, Digital Industry and Artificial Intelligence will no doubt attract a lot of attention. This year the exhibition also features a competition of industrial projects TECHOforumLEADER.   

This year Technoforum's partner is PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (Nornickel). Mr. Bednov presented a certificate of the official partner to the company's State Secretary – Vice President Dmitry Pristanskov.

Other participants in the opening ceremony were Vice-President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Dmitriev, President of Stankoinstrument Georgy Samodurov, Rector of the STANKIN Moscow State University of Technology Elena Kataeva and First Vice-Rector of the National University of Science and Technology MISiS Sergey Salikhov.
