An enlarged visiting meeting of the CCI of Russia Committee for Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities took place in Belgorod. It was organised in cooperation with the Belgorod CCI and Lipetsk CCI Unions. The theme of the event was Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities as a Driver for Development of Interregional Trade and Economic Ties.

The meeting participants took part in the official opening of the BelgorodAgro interregional specialised exhibition bringing together manufacturers from 16 regions of Russia. BelgorodAgro is one of the most important annual interregional events showcasing advanced achievements in agro-industrial production.

The meeting was held by Chairman of the CCI of Russia Committee for Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities, Director General of Expocentre AO Sergey Bednov. The meeting participants were Member of the Federation Council Committee on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management Ivan Kulabukhov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly Valery Skrug, Director of the Department of Exhibition, Fair, and Congress Activities of the CCI of Russia Sergey Selivanov as well as representatives of the Belgorod region government and the Belgorod CCI Union.

Sergey Bednov, in his report, said that trade shows and fairs were an essential part of business services aimed at to create regional business environment and promote goods and services to the domestic market. This part fulfills businessmen's need for collaboration. About 60% of exhibitions and fairs annually organised in this country, are interregional.

The Chairman of the Committee emphasised that the activities of the Belgorod CCI Union with the use of trade shows and fairs could serve a successful example of the development of interregional trade and economic cooperation. The geography of interregional trade shows held at Belexpocentr covers more than 30 regions of Russia testifying to regional cooperation on a national scale.

Sergey Bednov told about the cooperative programme of Expocentre with territorial chambers. The aim of the programme is to promote exhibition activities of regional manufacturers and their products through Expocentre's trade shows. 36 regional group strands were organised at Expocentre's seven largest trade shows (Prodexpo, Agroprodmash, Mebel, Zdravookhraneniye, MedTravelExpo, Mir Detstva, and CJF – Child and Junior Fashion)
