The first exhibition of agricultural and food machine building, Russian-Tajik Field Day, opened in Dushanbe on October 11. 

The exhibition was organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade with the support from the Tajik Government, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, the Russian trade mission to Tajikistan and the Rosspetsmash Association. EXPOCENTRE AO served as the exhibition operator. 

Sixteen Russian enterprises, among them Rostselmash, KamAZ, the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant (Kirovets), the Volzhsky Combine Plant (Agromash), the Bonum and FoxTank Motors machine building plants, Tractor LLC (Uralets) and the Noginsk Fuel Equipment Plant, demonstrate their products on an area exceeding 1,000 square meters. 

Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan Jamshed Jurahon Jumahonzoda, Director of the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry’s Department of Agricultural, Food and Road Construction Machine Building Management Maria Yelkina, Tajik Deputy Agriculture Minister Zevarshoi Zevarsho Tuygunshozoda, Russian Trade Representative in Tajikistan Yevgeny Korenkov, and head of the Tajik Economic Development and Trade Ministry’s Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation Dilshod Sharifi took part in the exhibition opening ceremony.

The exhibition of Russian hardware is an important event for Tajik government agencies and businesses. Meetings with representatives of Tajik regions were held. Tajik distributors of specialized equipment and leasing and agricultural companies are enthusiastically familiarizing themselves with the exhibits and are discussing terms of cooperation with the Russian exhibitors. 

A series of business events and meetings, among them a roundtable on Russia and Tajikistan: Prospects of Partnership in Agricultural Machine Building, a visiting meeting with a representative of the Tajik Transport Ministry, and a number of working meetings and negotiations with Tajik partners, will be held during the exhibition. 

The Russian-Tajik Field Day exhibition will end on October 12.
