The 6th edition of the Annual National Exhibition – VUZPROMEXPO 2019 organised by the Russian Ministry of Science and Education, has opened today at Expocentre Fairgrounds.

The participants in the high tech exhibition are more than 100 colleges and universities and research centres, 40 engineering centres, dozens of major corporations and companies which demonstrate the results of collaborative research and development projects. There are presented more than 1,000 projects.

The trade show is accompanied by a comprehensive supporting and youth-oriented programme with participation of leading researches, experts, students, regional leaders, and heads of relevant ministries.

Minister of Science and Education of Russia Mikhail Kotyukov opened VUZPROMEXPO 2019 and said the trade show and its supporting evens were devoted to the first year of implementation of the ‘Science’ and ‘Education’ national projects. “In these national projects,” he emphasized, “we always see a person. If we speak about science, we mean a researcher.  For him we create the most comfortable environment and the most advanced scientific infrastructure. We help him/her build teams and support them for the ideas of Russian promising young people to turn into state-of-the-art high technologies. I am very glad that regions are involved in these activities.”

According to the Minister, this year, along with leading research centres, we managed to create 280 new youth research laboratories. These are just first steps. There is a lot more to do for cooperation between universities, research centres and manufacturing companies to reach a fundamentally different level. One of the challenges is to train 35 thousand new researchers during realisation of the national projects.

In the opinion of VUZPROMEXPO 2019 organisers, high concentration of new technology solutions at the trade show, exchange of knowledge, experience, and ideas in the interdisciplinary and intersectoral industrial space will give an impetus to further intensive development of the partnership between science, education and business. These discussions are focused on priorities and cooperation algorithms between Russian universities, manufacturing companies, foundations, and public authorities.

The exhibition will run from December 11 through 12.
