The Forum on Successful Start in E-commerce in 2023: Trends, Opportunities and Effective Tools for Scaling Business in the Children’s Goods and Clothing Industry ran within the CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2023. Autumn and Mir Detstva 2023 exhibitions.

The event was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO together with XWAY, an operating partner of the largest Russian and foreign marketplaces. The Forum programme was moderated by Anton Larin, an expert in retail and e-commerce, CEO of XWAY.

Leading players of the children’s goods industry, who are participants in children’s industry exhibitions held at EXPOCENTRE, were able to communicate directly with representatives of marketplaces and experienced sellers who have been successfully developing their business in the e-commerce segment for many years, to hear their practical advice on bringing their products to the top and increasing sales.

Anton Baranov, Commercial Director at XWAY, noted in his speech that e-commerce is growing very rapidly. In 2022, this segment accounted for 15% of all retail trade, and huge investments are being made in it, with a third of non-food products sold through e-commerce being in the category of children’s goods. The speaker also drew attention to the fact that according to the latest data, 37% of Russians visit e-commerce sites every day, and 73% do so at least once a month, which means that almost three quarters of the country’s population already buys goods through the online commerce system.

Natalia Kuznetsova, representing the NAFI analytical centre, spoke in detail about consumer behaviour in the e-commerce segment in the category of children’s goods. Yulia Yadova, business development manager, introduced the peculiarities of promoting children’s goods on Yandex Market. Various aspects of e-commerce and the work of marketplaces were also covered by other specialists involved in this area.

The event aroused great interest in the professional audience of exhibitors and visitors, who were able to get comprehensive answers to many of their questions related to e-commerce.

The conference programme of the children’s goods industry shows at EXPOCENTRE was continued by the masterclass on Pump Yourself up with Mentors of the I’m on Style Reality Show conducted by the project co-founder Alyona Depechmode, a panel discussion on Fashion Hub Russia – the Ecosystem for the Development of Russian Fashion Business, and a trend tour of New Products of Children’s Clothing Manufacturers: Trends and Hits of Collections organised by Anastasia Kotova, a trend expert, representative of the CARLIN Creative Trend Bureau (France) in Russia
