The 28th edition of Caspian Oil & Gas concluded on June 2. Thirty-nine Russian companies presented their products at the show for the oil and gas industry with the support of the Russian Export Centre.

During the Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition, the participants in the Made in Russia pavilion, which was operated by EXPOCENTRE, held over 170 business meetings in total. The potential of these meetings is estimated at over USD 20 million. For example, the exhibition resulted in the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between a Russian producer of equipment for well injection and one of Azerbaijan's leading universities.

The number of foreign companies taking part in the negotiations was more than 20. These included companies in the gas and oil sector, research institutes, distributors and dealers of special equipment for the fuel and energy sector, manufacturers of high-tech products and more.

The Made in Russia pavilion occupied over 1,100 square metres. It was the largest in the last four years. The Russian stands offered visitors an opportunity to learn about Russian developments in technology, equipment, components, tools and automation products for the oil and gas sector.

“There is no doubt that all our brands are very well known in Azerbaijan. This year we have brought new equipment, a new line of machinery. We are pleased to see quite a lot of interest in Russian products from both large state oil and gas companies and oil and gas suppliers to Azerbaijan,” said Nuri Guliyev, head of the Russian Export Centre representative office in Azerbaijan.

In 2023, Russian exhibitors brought a large number of unique equipment, machinery and units to the exhibition. The most interesting products to Azerbaijani companies were high-capacity trucks up to 31 tonnes, unique amphibious machinery (airboats and all-terrain/swamp buoys) up to 5 tonnes, as well as industrial turbines, cable and wiring products, measuring and laboratory equipment for the fuel and energy industry, high-tech PPE against the most dangerous occupational hazards, etc.

A lot of attention was also paid to digitalisation and automation in the oil and gas industry, where Russian companies have traditionally been strong. Russian companies were able to offer their Azerbaijani partners efficient technological solutions in the field of accounting and dispatching of industrial facilities, data storage and analysis, integrated automation of fuel and energy enterprises and other production facilities with a continuous technological cycle, and a number of other popular software products.

Caspian Oil & Gas 2023 opened in Baku on 31 May. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the official opening ceremony. The Made in Russia pavilion was visited by Russian ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov.
