Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rosstandart, the Russian State Automobile Inspectorate, Roskachestvo, as well as manufacturers of children's goods took an active part in the Russian Conference on the Safe Childhood. It became one of the most significant events of the conference programme of the international exhibitions Mir Detstva 2021 and CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2021. Autumn

The conference was organised by the Council of Mothers Russian Public Organisation, the Parents’ Choice Expert and Educational Support Center for Parents with the support of EXPOCENTRE AO. The conference moderator was Tatiana Butskaya, Chairwoman of the Council of Mothers, Coordinator of the Project "Time to Give Birth".

The conference participants discussed the problems related to ensuring proper quality and safety of children's goods on the Russian market. Elena Danilevskaya, Federal Supervisor of the Mothers' Council, spoke about the results of the all-Russian campaign "Save a Child" summed up in eight months of the current year. The campaign is carried out jointly with Rosstandart to identify organisations selling surrogate child restraints instead of safe car seats. As a result of controls and notifications sent by activists since the beginning of the year, 25 retailers have voluntarily stopped selling surrogates.

Noting the importance of this issue, Olga Chusovskaya, Head of the Children's Goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, stressed that safety in a car is a guarantee of a child's health. The share of domestically produced child restraints in the Russian market is now 39%, she said, expressing confidence in the aspiration of Russian manufacturers to produce high-quality and comfortable products for parents and children.

The joint work carried out by Roskachestvo, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rosstandart and the Mothers' Council aimed at ensuring the safety and quality of goods for children is yielding results, said Elena Sarattseva, Deputy Head of the Russian Quality System. According to her, these results are in the increasing consumers' awareness of the proper quality and safety of goods. 

The conference hosted a diploma award ceremony for the winners of the 7th International Children's Goods Award “Parents' Choice 2021”. The most sought-after products by parents were named.  

The conference also summed up the results and awarded the winners of the Moms in Action 2020-2021 Competition. The Russian manufacturers of children's goods took part in it. All participants in the competition underwent nationwide testing of their products and received an independent assessment from the target audience.
