Firebird 2021. Autumn, the 17th Fair of Russian Arts and Crafts, opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds today. The exhibition is organised by the Centre of Arts and Crafts OOO and co-hosted by the Russian Handicraft and Art Association with the support of the Union of Folk Arts and Crafts of Russia and EXPOCENTRE AO. 

The exhibition is held twice a year. This autumn it is attended by 240 individual artists, craftsmen, artisans and designers from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan. 

The 1000 square metre exposition displays a rich palette of traditional, modern and original handicrafts. The master classes at the exhibition unlock the secrets of professional craftsmanship of the folk craftsmen who demonstrate the ancient techniques of painting on wood, fabric and metal, pottery, bone, stone and wood carving, toy modelling and lace weaving. 

A special children's area with workshops on various folk arts has been set up for young visitors. A gastronomic centre and performances by folklore groups are also on offer. 

Firebird 2021. Autumn runs until October 3.
