Prospects for Russian IT companies to enter the Middle East market and growth of domestic IT exports to the countries of the Middle East and North Africa were discussed by the participants of the round table organised with the support of Expocentre by the Dubai World Trade Center and PROFEX.

The meeting was attended by representatives of government agencies, associations, export centers, heads of leading IT companies.

On behalf of the Expocentre management, the roundtable participants were greeted by First Deputy Director General of Expocentre AO Nikolay Gusev. He focused on the activities of Expocentre in promoting Russian IT technologies to Russian and foreign markets. For instance, for many years Expocentre has been holding one of the most important industry exhibitions Sviaz, which is currently taking place as part of Russian Week of High Technologies. It also arranges the Russian pavilion at GITEX in Dubai.

Deputy Director of the Department of Strategic Development and Innovations of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Nikita Ponomarenko stressed that the Ministry paid special attention to the development of the IT sphere. He focused on the strategic points of the IT sector development and the projects implemented by the Ministry of Economic Development aimed at the increase of high-tech innovative products export.

Programs to support foreign suppliers of innovative IT solutions implemented at the state level in the UAE and, in particular, in Dubai, were presented by Director of the Enterprise Development Program of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry Natalya Sycheva.

Director of the project for the support of information technology exports of REC Marat Korovaev, as well as other representatives of the industry spoke about existing and new measures of state support for ICT exports and areas of activity of Russian Export Center AO.
