From 3 through 7 March, EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds hosts the 29th Exhibition and Fair for Russian Arts and Crafts. The show is organised by the Russian Handicraft and Art Association with support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and co-organised by EXPOCENTRE AO. Its general sponsor is Transneft PAO.

Ladya is Russia’s only exhibition and fair that showcases all types of folk arts and crafts of this country. It has been hosted by EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds since 2004. Ladya. Season 2020-2021 occupies 15,000 sq m to accommodate artistic associations and individual craftsmen from 57 regions of Russia.

Every year the fair expands its geographical and thematic scope. Ladya is a large-scale event that brings together world-renowned Russian centres of folk art and aims to promote the preservation and development of folk art traditions, strengthen the economy of crafts, and introduce visitors to artistic trends in the modern folk art.

At the fair’s opening ceremony, Deputy General Director of EXPOCENTRE AO Anna Sadovnichaya said that Ladya had always aroused the interest of Muscovites and visitors to the city, introduced them to the rich age-old traditions of folk art, and gave them an opportunity to get to know better the original culture of such a large and multinational country as Russia.

Season 2020-2021 was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation Committee for Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management Sergey Mitin, Board Chairman of the Russian Handicraft and Art Association Gennady Drozhzhin, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova, Deputy Vice President of Transneft PAO Vladimir Kalanda, and others.
