The Russian Handicraft and Art Association has opened Russia’s largest exhibition for Russian arts and crafts – Ladya. The Winter Fairytale 2021 – at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds today. The event is co-organised by EXPOCENTRE AO. 

Ladya. The Winter Fairytale 2021 is supported by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

Ladya shows the whole range of Russian folk arts and crafts. It is attended by creative associations, individual craftsmen and artisans from most regions of Russia, as well as educational institutions that train staff for craft enterprises.

Traditionally, world-renowned folk art centres occupy more than 25,000 sq m to present their best crafts: Khokhloma and Gorodets, Rostov finift, Gzhel, Koslovodsk porcelain, Kadomsky veniz, Vologda, Eletsk and Mikhailovsky lace, Kizlyar, Zlatoust, Kubachi, Zhostovo, Torzhok gold embroidery, Palekh, Kholuy, Mstyora, and many more. 

The showcase is formed according to the branch principle: salons of porcelain and ceramics, lacquer painting, art wood and bone carving, metal painting, art weaving and carpet weaving, art metal and leather processing, crystal and glass, etc. The exhibitors present not only new pieces of traditional crafts, but also their ability to organise receptions for tourist groups and individual tourists.

At the official opening ceremony, Board Chair of the Russian Handicraft and Art Association Gennady Drozhzhin read a welcoming message from Russian President Vladimir Putin. The ceremony was also attended by First Deputy Chair of the Council of the Federation Committee for Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management Sergey Mitin, State-Secretary – Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Affairs of Nationalities of Russia Anna Kotova, Cair of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia Mikhail Shmakov, representative of Transneft PAO Valery Zinovyev, First Deputy Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO Nikolay Gisev, and other official. 

The fair is open till December 19.
